Stars

Long before telescopes and modern astronomy, primitive people looked up at the night sky with curiosity and wonder. The stars were not just distant lights to them—they were powerful symbols that guided life, belief, and destiny. Many early civilizations believed that the movements of stars and constellations carried messages from the universe.

Primitive societies often saw the sky as a living map. By observing repeating patterns of stars, they began to recognize constellations that later became part of what we now call the zodiac signs. These constellations were associated with animals, heroes, and spiritual forces. People believed that the position of these stars during a person’s birth could influence their personality, fortune, and life path.

The sun, moon, and visible planets also played an important role in these early beliefs. Seasonal changes, harvest times, and rituals were often connected to the movements of celestial bodies. For example, when certain stars appeared in the sky at specific times of the year, it could signal the arrival of a new season or an important tribal event.

Over time, these early interpretations evolved into structured systems of astrology. The idea that each zodiac sign carries particular traits—such as courage, wisdom, or emotional depth—can be traced back to humanity’s ancient attempts to understand the cosmos.

Although modern science views astrology differently, the fascination with zodiac signs and star patterns remains a reflection of humanity’s timeless connection with the sky. The beliefs of primitive people remind us that long before technology, humans already sought meaning in the stars and used the heavens as a guide to understand life and destiny.

  • This post is all about rare techniques from remedial section of Vedic Astrology. A technique which calculates a Tithi (lunar date) for a house in horoscope is discussed below – I will also be sharing a horoscope of a child with Autism!

    • Divide figure obtained above under (3) by 12 – a Tithi is equivalent to Moon being 12 degrees away from Sun. Dwitiya Tithi will be 12×2=24 degrees. Calculate Tithi and then prescribe remedies.
